Dallas Democrats Tell DA to Do Her Job or Resign (August 24, 2015)

DALLAS – Just months after being sworn in, Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk has been inexplicably away from her job for three weeks, going on four. [Dallas Morning News, August 23, 2015]

Hawk has missed or cancelled a number of public appearances and is not answering media inquiries about her whereabouts.

Before her unexplained absence, she admitted to previous prescription drug abuse, and fired or forced the resignations of several key employees who have publicly called her behavior “paranoid”.

Dallas County Democratic Party Chair Carol Donovan issued the following statement:

“Our district attorney needs to do her job or resign.

“If she is struggling with personal problems, we wish her the best, but Dallas County’s top law enforcement official should not be a distraction to Crowley Courthouse employees, who need to focus on justice rather than their bosses’ erratic personal and professional conduct.”
