My career in politics began the summer before my senior year at Ursuline Academy of Dallas as a Fellow for Organizing for America. Four years later, I’m entering my senior year at the University of Texas at Dallas, and community organizing has become an integral part of my life! In this whirlwind of a journey through local politics, I’ve mastered the “hard ask,” made life-long friends, represented my senate district on the Platform Committee at the 2014 Texas Democratic Convention, become a precinct chair and a member of the Advisory Council, and was elected the President of the UTD College Democrats. Now here I am, joining the DCDP team as Communications Intern, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Outside of politics, I’m studying International Political Economy and Environmental Studies at UTD. I’m an active member of the IPE Student Association, and I work on campus at the Student Counseling Center.
I’m not sure what my future holds, but I’m a firm believer in President Obama’s mantra of “hope and change.” All of these experiences and adventures have been a culmination of my love for progressivism and my desire to make this world a better and more inclusive place for everyone. I can’t wait to continue learning from Dallas Democrats and doing my part to Turn Texas Blue.
