Preston Hollow Democrats January 11, 2018 Meeting:
At the January 11, 2018 Meeting of The Preston Hollow Democrats, we will vote to endorse candidates for the March 2018 Primary.
The Procedure is as follows:
As you enter and sign in, your eligibility to vote will be verified. You must be a member in good standing for 30 days prior to the meeting. 2017 members may pay their 2018 dues at the 1/11/18 meeting and will be eligible to vote.
A candidate receiving 50% + 1 of the votes cast will receive the endorsement of The PHD.
Abstentions will not be counted toward the total.
We will not have a runoff in any race. Those races where no candidate receives 50% + 1 vote, will not receive an endorsement.
When you enter and eligibility is verified, you will be given a ballot to vote for the slate of Non- Contested races in the primary. This will be a Yes or No vote, For or Against, endorsing the slate of candidates who do not have a challenger.
6:30 - Promptly the meeting will be called to order and we will review the voting procedure. Voting for the Slate of Non-Contested Races will open.
6:45 - We will have a brief panel discussion of candidates from the 24th US Represetative District.
7:30 - At the conclusion of the panel discussion, we will take up the ballots for the Slate of Non- Contested candidates and those who have a Non-Contested Ballot will receive a Ballot for the Contested Races. You must have received a Non-Contested Ballot in order to receive the Contested Races ballot.
You must be present at the conclusion of the Panel Discussion to receive a Contested Races Ballot.
The PHD Executive Board of Directors has reviewed the candidates and has voted to recommend endorsement for the candidates highlighted on the Contested Races Ballot.
The voting for endorsements in Contested Races will open.
7:45 - Candidates who have signed in to speak will be allowed time. The amount of time will be determined at the meeting and the Secretary will keep the time.
8:30 - Meeting adjourned. All votes to be placed in the Ballot Box.
The results of the votes will be posted on The Preston Hollow Democrats web page and. Facebook page. Ballots will be kept for 30 days then destroyed.
Please join the Preston Hollow Democrats to meet Josh Imhoff, Jan McDowell, John Biggan, and Todd Allen, candidates running for Congressional District 24 in the March 6, 2018 primary. PHD members are encouraged to attend this important meeting as we will also vote on endorsements for the March primary elections.
Regular meetings: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Recreation Center, 10011 Midway Road, Dallas 75229. The meeting is free and open to the public.
